The
Assistance Fund of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad
To
all Faithful Members of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad!
It has been a painful and
difficult time since a part of the Church signed the Act of Eucharistic Communion with the Moscow Patriarchate on May
17, 2007, but we have endured and remained true to the Church. Now the time has come for our Church to re-establish
its structure and hierarchy. The ROCA Provisional
Supreme Ecclesiastical Authority has announced its plan to convene a Vth All-Diaspora Sobor in
November of this year in order to resolve these and other important matters
facing our Church, and has asked the ROCA Assistance Fund to help gather funds
for the Sobor.
To assemble our members from
all over the world will not be easy, but it is crucial that we come together to
chart our future course. As you can
understand, there are a great number of expenses associated with such an
event. We need to purchase airline
tickets for notable guests and for those who cannot afford to do so themselves. We need to reserve a hotel, rooms, and
conference halls. We need to arrange meals
for all attendees and transportation. Our
goal is to raise at least $75,000.00.
The success of
the Sobor and the future of our Church rests with every one of us.
Please respond to
the call of our Church and donate as much as you can for the Sobor.
